The Tennessee Waste Reduction & Recycling Act - TWRRA

TWRRA - Tennessee’s Extended Producer Responsibility Legislation Bill #’s HB-0550 & SB0573

On January 18th, The Tennessee Sierra Club’s Solid Waste & Mining Committee filed a Packaging Extended Producer Responsibility bill called the Tennessee Waste Reduction & Recycling Act. TWRRA will create new jobs, build local economies, reduce litter, and reduce waste sent to landfills, resulting in cleaner Tennessee air and water.

TWRRA helps businesses by ensuring a resilient domestic supply of recycled materials for new products. TWRRA eliminates the burden of funding and managing Recycling for Tennessee’s towns. TWRRA improves recycling of plastics, aluminum and steel cans, glass bottles, and cardboard.
